The ancient city of Thamusida

Site Archéologique de Thamusida, Laa'babda

Located near Kenitra, on the banks of the Sebou River, the ancient city of Thamusida is one of the major archaeological sites in the Rabat-Salé-Kenitra region. Founded in Roman times, this ancient city occupied a strategic position on the trade routes linking the interior to the Atlantic coast. The remains visible today bear witness to Roman urban planning, with traces of ramparts, thermal baths, dwellings, and public spaces. Steeped in history, Thamusida offers visitors an immersion in Morocco’s ancient past and is a privileged place for lovers of archaeology, history, and cultural discovery, in a peaceful natural setting by the river.
